Can you believe it’s August already? Actually, with what 2020 has brought us thus far, maybe the sentiment is, “Is it only August?”. August brings the Back-to-School/Back-to-Work vibe, but this year will most likely be different. The kids will go back to school, but it might be a different approach and that means some of you will remain full-time work, part-time teachers. In regards to long-term care insurance, we’ve seen the industry experiencing an increase in traditional sales. I personally believe it is due to the confidence that our agents have to introduce the conversation of long-term care. We are all aware there are many scam artists out there, targeting our elderly on a daily basis. When Medicare announced a few years ago a new card that would have a different number, these scammers wasted no time and have been trying to cash-in on this change ever since.
The most common approach scammers attempt is to contact Medicare beneficiaries by phone. They claim to be a “Medicare Representative” and try various scenarios to obtain Medicare, financial/banking, or personal information. One of the possible calls a Medicare beneficiary may receive is regarding a NEW plastic Medicare Card.

As you may be aware, September is Life Insurance Awareness Month (LIAM). There will be many carrier campaigns as well as national campaigns to ensure all Americans are educated on the importance of death benefits.
