If you have not read the article written by Scott Gilpin about the COVID-19 virus and how agents can still sell during these unprecedented times, please do so. I would like to go into a little more details on how a Medicare agent can still conduct business during this time, and what tools and resources Producers XL and the carriers have that can help us practice “Social Distancing”.
To help protect our most vulnerable population, we strongly suggest not meeting clients face-to-face. Medicare sales agents may conduct a telephonic sales presentation, with the beneficiary’s permission. They

are also able to use apps like Skype, FaceTime, or other teleconferencing options. Most agents do know that pretty much every carrier out there that we offer does have electronic applications that can be used to submit new business. These E-Apps are a wonderful solution to replace an agent going out and meeting a client face-to-face. I would like to point out the sales of Medicare advantage or PDP plans have the need to present specific presentations to your client just like any face-to-face appointments.
Producers XL has a wonderful resource for Medicare agents, our Medicare Toolbox. Once on our Toolbox page, you will see links to all our Medicare carriers, our electronic scope of appointment and E-App system. We also have an E-App section that has the resources available from the carriers that will help guide you through and submit an E-Application. Please rest assured that the carriers as well as staff who will be available to help guide you through an E-App if you do have difficulty or questions. Most of the carriers do offer the ability to go in and play around in their E-Apps, and I recommend agents to do that to become familiar with the systems and nuances that each carrier may have
I hope that if you have not used E-Apps yet, that you will take a serious look at them and utilize them during this time. We want to do everything we can for our agents and for your clients in helping stop the spread of this virus. Please remember that our Medicare clients are the most vulnerable right now and we should do our part in “Social Distancing” ourselves.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions or need help getting set up for E-Apps.
